BBBDLVBD, THAT the Bangor City Council, by adoption of this
Resolve,, does hereby determine and declare that the amendment
described herein to the Bangor City Charter is desirable and nec-
essary, and in the best interests of the inhabitants of the City
of Bangor, and be it further
RESOLVED, THAT the City.Clerk is hereby authorized and dir-
ected, pursuant to 30 M.R.S.A. §§1911 at seq., as amended, to pro-
vide for published notice of a hearing to be held at on
in the City Council Chambers, for purposes of con-
sidering the peoposed amendment to the Bangor City Charter, the
text of said proposed amendment and a brief explanation thereof
being As follows
THAT the 5th line, first sentence, first paragraph, Sec. 1,
Article IV df the City CHanter be amended t0 read in part as follows:
..thereafter on the Tuesday following the first
Monday of November in each year a regular municipal
election shall be: held and the qualified voters of
the city sh0.13ballot for councilors to fill the
'office of the councilors whose terms of office expire
that year, and the qualified voters of each precinct shall,
at the same time, ballot to fill the office of warden
Or ward clerk which shall expire that year."
Explanation: The purpose of this amendment is to change the date
of the city election from the second Monday in October to the Tuesday
following the first Monday of November of each year.
