CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE Engineering Department July 207 1978 To the Municipal Officers Reference is made to City Council Order No. 219 AF passed May 87 1978, directing the City Engineer to prepare Plans and Cost Estimates for a possible extension of the sanitary sewer on Burleigh Road. Plans and Cost Estimates have been completed, which would provide for the following: The proposed extension would consist of the installation of 800 feet of 8 inch pipe. extending northeasterly from the present terminus of the sewer. The total estimated cost of the sewer extension is $23,000.009 of which the City would pay 5096 and the remaining amount would be assessed proportionately against the properties benefited, as follows: Name Frontage Est. Assessment In Favor Opposed Northwest Side ~ Irene F. Palmer 250 Burleigh Road. 612 feet $49719.00 X Southeast Side Harold D. Johnson 135 Burleigh Road 80 feet 617.00 x Bangor Hydro Trans- mission Line (non - assessable) 80 feet 617.00 Duane E. Snapp 181 Burleigh Road 150 feet 15156.00 x Richard I. Stone 25 Roger Street 250 feet 17927.00 x Norman E. Webb 217 Burleigh Road 320 feet 29466.00 x Total: $119500.00 2 3 Since only two property owners, having a total combined frontage of 400 feet out of 11492 feet, are in favor of the sewer, the extension of the sewer at this time is questionable. For this reason, it is recommended that the sewer not be extenod until additional interest is apparent from the property owners. -1- Plans of the proposed sewer installation are on file in the office of the City Engineer. Respectfully submitted, J E:awwley, City Engineer -2-
