BVCM City CoxroN affAe IX�dBa*9or: DRDERED, THAT WHEREAS, the Governor's Committee on Coastal Development and Conservation and the State Planning Office have developed a Coastal Program which, if funded by the Federal Government, will make available between $800,000.00 and $1,000,000.00 to coastal communities next year, with probableextension of the funding on an annual basis, and WHEREAS, is is desirable for the City of Bangor to inventory its shoreland areas to determine the most desirable use and most appro- priate zoning of these areas and said inventory, data collection, and planning is considered to be eligiBl e, for funding under the proposed program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED, that the necessary steps be taken by the City Manager to file an application for said Project, including the sub- mission of an initial Letter of Intent, and that the Chairman of the City Council is hereby authorized to sign said Letter on behalf of the City. STATEMENT OF FACT: Depending upon the number of communities that apply, Bangor's allocation will be between $9,280.00 and $13,240.00.. By passage of Council Order 235 AF on May 8, 1978, the City has allocated approximately one half of the potential funds available to undertake preliminary planning for the Development -of a Marina and satellite facility on the Penobscot River.
