Co iLnan ITY C � CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE Engineering Department November 8, 1978 To the Municipal Officers Reference is made to City Council Order No. 176 AT passed March 279 1978, which authorized the extension of a sanitary sewer on Hogan Road North of Interstate Highway I-95. All work has been completed, described as follows: The installation included 11470 feet of 8 inch sanitary sewer pipe and 4 manholes, serving the area between Interstate Highway 1-95 and the westerly line of the K -Mart property. The sewer was installed In anticipation of the development which would soon take place, and was required prior to the completion of the Hogan Road reconstruction undertaken by the Maine Department of Transportation, so that it would not be necessary to excavate within the limits of the new work for a sewer installation. The total actual cost of the sewer installation was $18,418.00, which is substantially below the original estimate of $29,310.00. Of this amount, the City would pay 5096, and the remaining $9,209.00 would be assessed proportionately against the properties benefited, as follows: Name Frontage Recommended Assessment EAST SIDE Springer Realty Corp. Wolstein (K -Mart) Non -Assessable 49604.50 Total $9,209.00 As mentioned in the original report, the property on the westerly side of the Rogan Road, most of which is occupied by the K -Mart, is non -assessable, since the K -Mart paid a previous assessment for the existing sewer which extends in a westerly direction from their property to Stillwater Avenue.
