CITY CLERK VC i CITY OF BARGOR, MAINE Engineering Department January 5, 1979 To the Municipal Officers: Reference is made to City Council Order No. 180 AF passed April 24, 1978, authorizing the extension of sanitary sewer service from Judson Heights to the Bomarc area. All work has been completed, as follows: The project consisted of the installation of 2,690 feet of 8 inch pipe and 7 manholes, commencing at an existing sewer on Judson Boulevard, and extending in an easterly direction to the existing pump station in the Bomarc area. The actual cost of the sewer installation was $32,656.00, which is substantially less than the original estimate of $63,100.00. The final cost does not include certain clean up work and reseeding which will be required in the spring; for this reason, an allowance of $1,000.00 is added to the total cost, bringing the estimated final cost to $33,656.00. Of this amount, fifty per cent would be paid by the City, and the remaining $16,828.00 would be assessed proportionately against the properties benefited. The relative benefit was originally computed on the projected sewage flows which would be received from the various properties served, based upon the areas served and the type of use. The relative benefit, and recommended assessment against the properties benefited would be as follows: Name Per Cent of Flow Assessment L & I Atlantic 23.72% $31992.00 Eastern Maine Friends of Retarded Citizens 6.93% 11166.00 Northern Products 5.22% 878.00 Bangor Candy Co. 0.89% 150.00 W. Consequently, the final settlement of .assessments and reimbursements is as follows It is recommended that the assessments be levied, and that the overpayments be reimbursed, as noted above. Further reim- bursement or billing will be made when the final cost of clean up and reseeding has been completed In the spring.
