To the MunicipalOfficers
Reference is made to City Council Order No. 307 AF passed
August 14, 1978 which authorized the installation of a sanitary
sewer on Rogan Road between Penjajawoc Stream and Interstate
Highway 1-95• All work has been completed, consisting of the
following:
A used pump station owned by the City was installed on the
northeast aide of Hogan Road near Penjajawoc Stream, connected
to the existing pump station on the EMVT1 property by 625 feet
of.8 inch force main. 1,175 feet of 8 inch gravity sewer was
installed in a northwesterly direction along Hogan Road toward
the Interstate, with 5 manholes, to serve the properties on the
northeast side of Hogan Road who had originally petitioned for
the sewer.
The total actual cost of the sewer installation was
$34,496.009 substantially less than the original estimate of
$51,500.00. The City's share is 50%9 or $17,248.00, with the
remaining amount to be assessed against the frontage benefited,
as follows:

As noted above, the land owned b9 the State of Maine on
the southwest side of Hogan Road, being EMVTI, is considered
non -assessable, since it is already connected into another
sewer for which it was previously assessed. In addition, a
20 foot right-of-way owned by John ➢avis would not benefit
by the sewer installation and is considered non -assessable.
All of the remaining property owners were required to
preflmd their share of the cost, based upon the original
estimated cost. Since the actual cost of the sewer was less
than the original estimate, refunds to those property owners
are due as noted above.
Plane showing the actual sewer installation are on file
in the Office of the City Engineer.
