BANGOR SHOE SHINE BUSINESS
INTRODUCTION
The Bangor Shoe Shine Business that is being submitted
is a general outline that introduces goals, objectives,
Personnel, Business Market, Needs for the Business, Results
and Benefits, Hours of Operation, Services Provided, Cost of -
Services, and Long Range Possibilities.
The Bangor Shoe Shine Business can create jobs. for
Part -Time Senior Citizens or young people who would like the
opportunity to increase their income by working for commission.
The employee will also have the opportunity to meet
people from the General Public in downtown Bangor, as well as
meeting people who travel to Bangor on vacation and for business.
The Bangor Shoe Shine Business would require a maximum of
time investment while providing a valuable service and need in
the community.
The BangorShoeShine Business will advertise by word of
mouth and hand out fliers.
GOALS
The goals are to implement a Bangor Shoe Shine Business:
A. To provide full service Shoe Shine business where a
person can relax while waiting to have his Shoes
Shined.
B. To Provide three -Directors chairs.
C. To provide the proper insurance to cover any unfortunate
accident while providing the service.
D. To provide reading material such as the Wall Street
Journal, Bangor Daily News, Barron, Newsweek, Time,
Etc.
OBJECTIVES
The Bangor Shoe Shine Business will
A. Hent space approximately five (5) feet by (5) in a
Bank (Merchants, Northern National, Northeast, and
Merrill) at the Airport or other suitable locations.
B. Hire three employees who would like to work on
commission for a total of fifteen (15) hours per
week each.
COST OF SERVICE
752 for a pair of shoes
856 for a pair of boots
LONG RANGE FEASIBILITY
Because of the "growth" that the Airport has shown over -
the Vast five years, people who travel on Business and
Tourists are now using the Airports. This "market" is
untouched by any business .such as the Shoe Shine Business.
HOURS OF BUSINESS OPERATION
The Bangor Shoe Shine Business will operate Monday thru
Thursday, 9:00 - 3:00 and 9:00 - 5:00 on Friday and all hours
will try to coincide with Airport coming and leaving.
PERSONNEL - The Bangor Shoe Shine Business in Bangor would like to
staff the Business with Senior Citizens because they are -
Generally, Dependable, Responsible, and may desire to continue
to be productive members of the community after retirement.

RESULTS AND BENEFITS
The Bangor Shoe Shine Business will provide part-time
position for Senior Citizens who can benefit from the Business
by way of extra income, being out and about communicating
with the general public.
The business person who uses the service will no doubt
add to his or her appearance, because a clean pair of shoes
will add to anyones professional outlook and will be noticed
by others.
