A visit was made to Naeon Manor on Hancock Street and was
found suitable for District 1, Precinct 1 as a new voting place.
PA. Robertson, Director of xousip will be contacted to see if
voting may be held at the lesson Manor.
Other places suggested were. john Bapet High School. Police Station
ana Naeon Manor.
Contacted Robertson. Housing:
He most check with Board of Directors before giving permission
to use Nason Naar for voting - he will get back to us.
Sohn Field said we could Dail out cards with tax bills --- but
they are sent alphabetical and not by Streets.

This will refer to our telephone conversation of last week
relative to changing of voting places and having special provi-
sions for the elderly and the handicapped.
Enclosed you will find a copy of L.D. 181 along with a copy
of Cosmittee Amendment A which addresses this subject. The amend-
ment was received today and therefore there has been ho action taken
at this time by the Legislature on its passage.
I hope this will assist you and when tiara are further develop-
ments I will let you know.

AN ACT W Provide Accessible Polling Places for the Physically Handicapped and
Me Elderly.
Emergency preamble. Whereas, Acts of the Legislature do not become
effective unfit An days after adjournment unless created as emergencies; and
Whereas, it is imperative that polling places in this Stale be made accessible 0
physioelly limited and elderly citizens; and
Whereas, it E vitally important for this conversion to begin at Ne earliest
possible time to avoid unnecessary hardship and to have some facilities ready for
the next general election: and
Whereas, in the judgment of the Legislature, these facts create an emergency
within the meaning of Ne Constitution of Maine and require the following
legislation as Immediately necessary for the preservation of Ne public peace,
health and safely: now, therefore,
