Accepting and Appropriating $34,281 in Grant Funds for the Maine Prevention Services Substance Use
Prevention Grant Program through the University of New England.
This Resolve will allow for an amendment to an existing grant program supporting Maine Prevention
Services Substance Use Prevention, increasing the funds by $34,281 in FY21. On October 26, 2020
resolve 20-331 was passed to accept and appropriate grant funds in the amount of $154,815 to the
Maine Prevention Services Substance Use Prevention Grant Program through the University of Maine.
FY21 is year five of a five-year Maine Prevention Services grant to provide youth substance use
prevention to residents of Penobscot County.
These are federal funds, passed through the state of Maine to the University of New England who
manages the Maine Prevention Services Substance Use Prevention Grants statewide.

Whereas, On October 26, 2020 resolve 20-331 was passed to accept and appropriate grant funds in the

Whereas, This Resolve will allow for an amendment to an existing grant program supporting Maine Prevention
Services Substance Use Prevention, increasing the funds by $34,281 in FY21, and
Whereas, FY21 is year five of a five-year Maine Prevention Services grant to provide youth substance use
prevention to residents of Penobscot County.
Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the City Manager is authorized to accept and
appropriate $34,281 in Grant Funds for the Maine Prevention Services Substance Use Prevention Grant
Program through the University of New England.
