HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-12-10 13-037 ORDERCOUNCIL ACTION Item No. 13-037 Date: December 10, 2012 Item/Subject: Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bangor and Teamsters Local 340 representing Support Staff at Bangor Police Department Responsible Department: Executive Commentary: This Order authorizes the City Manager to execute a collective bargaining agreement with Police Support Staff employees. Negotiations between the City and Union have resulted in a Tentative Agreement which has been ratified with the Union. This agreement follows the most recent agreement that expired on June 30, 2012. The agreement has been negotiated within the guidelines established by the Council and includes the Following: a three-year term; wage adjustments of 1.5% year one, 1.5% year two; and 2.0% year three; updated health insurance rates and corresponding date changes; agreement to close the most expensive health insurance plan effective 1-1-15; reassignment of certain clerical positions on the pay schedule, and various other housekeeping changes. The agreement was reviewed with the Council in Executive Session on November 26th and is presented with the recommendation of the Management Negotiating Committee. Support Staff at Bangor Police Department Be it Ordered by the Bangor City Council that. the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bangor and Teamsters Local 340 representing Police Support Staff for a term commencing July 1, 2012 and ending June 30, 2015 in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Tentative Agreement between the City and Union Negotiating Committees.
