HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-11-14 13-010 ORDER COUNCIL ACTION Item No. 13-010 Date: November 14, 2012 Item/Subject: Order, Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bangor and the Federation of Public Employees, AFT, AFL-CIO representing certain employees at Fleet Maintenance Responsible Department: Executive Commentary: This Order authorizes the City Manager to execute a three year collective bargaining agreement with certain employees in the Fleet Maintenance Division. Negotiations between the City and Union have resulted in a Tentative Agreement which has been ratified by the Union. This agreement follows the most recent contract that expired on June 30, 2012. The Agreement has been negotiated within the bargaining guidelines established by the City Council and includes the following: a three year term; wage adjustments of 1.5% year one; 1.5% year two, and 2.0% year three; updated health insurance rates and corresponding date changes, agreement to close the most expensive healthcare plan on December 31, 2014; and minor adjustments to safety footwear, tool, license, and inspection stipends. The agreement is presented with the recommendation of the Management Negotiations Committee and was reviewed with the City Council in Executive Session on October 22nd.
