This Order will authorize the airport to apply for and accept a grant in the amount of $2,581,294 from the Federal Aviation Administration under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) for Bangor International Airport (BGR). This grant funding may be used for operating and capital expenses that are defined permitted uses of airport revenue (i.e. aeronautical purposes). Airports must submit payment requests for reimbursements similar to the Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) program administration. Airport Committee 03/02/2021 Recommend for passage Staff recommends approval. New Business 03/08/202121-114 CITY OF BANGOR ORDER 03/08/2021 21-114 Hawes Authorizing the Application for and Acceptance of a Grant in the Amount of $2,581,294 from the Federal Aviation Administration under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act for Bangor International Airport (BGR). WHEREAS, The Department of Transportation (DOT) will provide economic relief to U.S. airports as part of the CRRSAA Grants Program; and WHEREAS, Bangor International Airport has been advised that it is eligible for a grant under this CRRSAA Act program; and WHEREAS, This grant may be used for operating and capital expenses that are defined permitted uses of airport revenue (i.e. aeronautical purposes); and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, That the City Manager, or her designee, is authorized to file an application, including all understandings and assurances contained therein, for and accept a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration in the amount of $2,581,294 under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act for Bangor International Airport (BGR). The City Manager, as the official representative of the applicant, is directed and authorized to act in connection with the application and to provide such additional information as may be required.
