HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-01-11 21-069 Order 01/11/202121-069 01/11/2021 21-069 Airport Order 001-001 Title, Order Authorizing Applications for FY 2021 Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) Entitlement Grants Not to Exceed $2,500,000 from the FAA and $75,500 from the MDOT for Approved Projects at Bangor International Airport (BGR). This Order will authorize the applications for FY 2021 Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) entitlement grants not to exceed amounts of $2,500,000 from the FAA and $75,500 from the MDOT. If approved, these grants are anticipated to be utilized for the following projects at the airport; 1.) Master Plan - This includes a terminal study, pavement management plan, energy audit/sustainability, airport land-use plan, and updated capital improvement plan; 2.) Runway ASR relief and repairs - This includes necessary runway repairs due to ASR (alkali silica reaction) causing pavement deformation issues within the concrete underneath the asphalt pavement; 3.) Taxiway A and M repairs - This is for repairs to the shoulders on these taxiways which are deteriorating. These projects are included in BGR’s FAA approved 5-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Consent 01/11/202121-069 CITY OF BANGOR ORDER 01/11/2021 21-069 Sprague Authorizing Applications for FY 2021 Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) Entitlement Grants Not to Exceed $2,500,000 from the FAA and $75,500 from the MDOT for Approved Projects at Bangor International Airport (BGR). WHEREAS, the City of Bangor, Maine is the owner of an airport located in Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine, commonly known as Bangor International Airport; and WHEREAS, the airport desires to submit applications for FY 2021 entitlement grants from the FAA and MDOT under the Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) Program; and WHEREAS, the total estimated grant amounts not to exceed $2,575,500 will be used for the Master Plan, ASR runway repairs, and taxiway repairs; and WHEREAS, these projects are included in BGR’s FAA approved 5-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, That the City Manager is authorized to file applications, including all understandings and assurances contained therein, for FY 2021 entitlement grants from the FAA and MDOT under the Airport Improvement Plan (AIP) Program. The total estimated grant amounts not to exceed $2,500,000 from the FAA and $75,500 from the MDOT will be used for the Master Plan, ASR runway repairs, and taxiway repairs. The City Manager, as the official representative of the applicant, is directed and authorized to act in connection with the application and to provide such additional information as may be required.
