Title, Order
Changing the Name of Hodson Street to Short Street and Adding it to the Official City Map
This Order will rename the portion of Hodson Street to Short Street, and change the street name on
the Official City Map as authorized under Section 271-5 of the Code of the City of Bangor.
Hodson Street is an approximately 194 foot section located northeasterly of Independent Street and
is used to connect Main Street to Independent Street. In the past it has also had several variations
on the naming: Hodgdon and Hodsdon.
In August of 1980, the upper portion of Hodson Street was discontinued. The lower portion from
Short Street down to Independent Street remained. Short Street now turns into Hodson Street at
the bend in the road.
Staff recommends renaming to Short Street for the purpose of road name consistency.
