electricity aggregator as well as the benefits to date. Staff requested the ability to
extend the contracts for a one year period. Staff indicated a desire to undertake a
comprehensive review of the City’s energy contracts and methodology in the coming
year. Councilors indicated a desire to ensure the plan includes future facility
enhancements, bill consolidation and peak shaving opportunities.
Motion made and seconded to authorize the one-year contracts, motion passed
unanimously.
2. Taxpayer Request Waive Developer Agreement Requirement – 57 Division
Street
Staff provided an overview of the actions taken to date regarding this property. In
general terms, there is a matured tax lien on the property and the Committee has voted
that in order for a sale to proceed a developer agreement will need to be part of the
sale to ensure the property is returned to an appropriate state. The current owner had
a buyer back out of the sale due to this requirement and was seeking a waiver of the
requirement. Since that discussion with staff last week, an additional buyer has come
forward and is willing to accept this term. Therefore, there is no action necessary for
this item.
3. Executive Session – 36 MRSA Section 841(2) – Hardship Abatements (A) &
(B)
Motion made and seconded to enter executive session.
4. Open Session – Hardship Abatement Decisions (A) & (B)
Motion made and seconded to approve staff recommendation to grant the hardship
abatement applications (A) and (B), motion passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 6:01 pm
