HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-10-14 20-332 Resolve 10/05/202020-332 10/05/2020 20-332 Health & Community Services Resolve N/A Title, Resolve Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate $357,175 in grant funds over a 2 year period from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services for Nursing Services This resolve will authorize the City Manager to accept and appropriate $357,175 in grant funds over a 2 year period from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services for Community Health Nursing Maternal and Child Health Nursing Services. The grant provides services to prenatal and postpartum women, infants and children in Bangor and Piscataquis County. The City of Bangor has held this grant for over 20 years. The last RFP was in 2007 and was up for renewal in 2020. The newest grant includes expanding services and support for birthing families in Piscataquis County. The grant would run for a 2 year period beginning October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2022 with an option to renew for three, two-year renewal cycles. Government Operations Committee 10/05/2020 Recommend for passage First Reading 10/05/202020-332 CITY OF BANGOR RESOLVE 10/05/2020 20-332 Okafor Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate $357,175 in grant funds over a 2 year period from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services for Nursing Services Whereas; The Maine Department of Health and Human Services provides grant funds for services to prenatal and postpartum women, infants and children within Bangor and Piscataquis County, and Whereas; The City applied for and has been the recipient of this grant in Bangor for the past 20 years, and Whereas; The newest grant includes birthing families within Bangor and the expansion of services to birthing families in Piscataquis County. Whereas; The grant would for 2 years beginning 10/01/2020 through 09/30/2022 with an option to renew for 3 renewal cycles. Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the City Manager is authorized to accept and appropriate $357,175 in grant funds over a 2 year period from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services for Community Health Nursing Maternal and Child Health Nursing Services.
