HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-10-14 20-328 Order 10/14/202020-328 10/14/2020 20-328 Airport Order 001-001 Title, Order Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a 2nd Amendment to the Lease Agreement Between the City of Bangor and LifeFlight of Maine, LLC. This Order authorizes a 2nd amendment to the lease between the City of Bangor and LifeFlight of Maine, LLC. for the rental of additional office space within the 600 Hangar at Bangor International Airport. LifeFlight is currently in year 5 of a 15 year lease term, and desires to lease additional office space for its newly created air carrier certificate program for its flight department. This expansion will result in 7 additional employment opportunities. If approved, this 2nd amendment includes the lease of an additional 1,091 sq. ft. of office space, identifies this office renovation on the list of additional improvements that will mutually benefit both Parties, and adjusts the rental payment terms by adding $459.13 per month, to incorporate the additional improvement. This lease amendment will be in final form as approved by City Legal. Airport Committee 10/05/2020 Recommend for passage 50 Staff recommends approval. Consent 10/14/202020-328 CITY OF BANGOR ORDER 10/14/2020 20-328 Tremble Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a 2nd Amendment to the Lease Agreement Between the City of Bangor and LifeFlight of Maine, LLC. WHEREAS, the Lessor is the owner of an Airport, commonly known as “Bangor International Airport”, formerly known as Dow Air Force Base and located in the City of Bangor, County of Penobscot, State of Maine (hereinafter sometimes referred to as the “Airport”); and WHEREAS, the City of Bangor and LifeFlight of Maine, LLC are parties to a lease dated June 1, 2015 and amended September 15, 2015, wherein LifeFlight of Maine, LLC leases certain facilities, also known as Hangar 600, from the City of Bangor; and WHEREAS, LifeFlight is currently in year 5 of a 15 year lease term; and WHEREAS, LifeFlight of Maine desires to lease and renovate additional office space for its air carrier certificate program for its flight department; and WHEREAS, this expansion will result in 7 additional job opportunities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, That Catherine M. Conlow, City Manager, is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Bangor to execute a 2nd amendment to the Indenture of Lease of June 1, 2015 and amended September 15, 2015 between the City of Bangor and LifeFlight of Maine, LLC. for the rental of an additional 1,091 sq. ft. of office space within Hangar #600 at Bangor International Airport. The amendment shall include the lease of additional space, identifies this office renovation on the list of additional improvements that will mutually benefit both Parties, and adjusts the rental payment terms by adding $459.13 per month, to incorporate the additional improvement. This lease amendment will be in final form as approved by City Legal.
