Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate a $272,104.25 COVID-19 Response Grant from the
Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL)
This resolve will authorize acceptance and appropriation of $272,104.25 that was awarded to the
City by the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL). The funds must be used exclusively for the public
purpose of planning and operationalization of safe and secure election administration.
The allowable items covered under the grant are expenditures that help with the administration of
the election. Such expenditures can include the following: early voting expenses, additional staff,
hazard pay, poll location expenses, new or upgraded equipment, PPE and sanitizing/cleaning
supplies, signage, voter outreach and communications on how to register to vote.

Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate a $272,104.25 COVID-19 Response Grant from the
Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL)
WHEREAS, the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) was allocated $250,000,000 in funding from from
Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg to support election administrators in 2020; and
WHEREAS, the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) solicited all eligible election administrators in the United
States to apply for a portion of the funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bangor submitted an application for funding to support its election administration; and
WHEREAS, the City has received notification that the CTCL has awarded $272,104.25 in funding for the City of
Bangor.
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it Resolved that the City Council of the City of Bangor hereby accepts and appropriates
$272,104.25 in COVID-19 Response Grant funds from the Center for Tech and Civic Life that will be utilized
for the purpose of planning and administration of a safe and secure election in Bangor in 2020.
