Authorizing Application, Accepting and Appropriating $146,389 in Municipal COVID-19 Awareness Campaign
Funds from the State of Maine
This resolve will authorize City's staff action to apply for additional Municipal COVID-19 Awareness
Campaign funds. As well as accept and appropriate the $146,389 that was awarded to the City by
the State of Maine. This program funds the creation of local education and prevention plans to
encourage Maine businesses, residents and summer visitors to follow best practices to prevent the
spread of COVID-19 during the reopening of the State's economy. This is the second award of
funding for this purpose received by the City.
The allowable activities that were included in the plan submitted by City staff include;
public education (website, social media and Mask Up campaign), physical distancing and public
health support (alternate service options, recreational and public spaces) and local business
assistance (reopening education & compliance, health concerns and education).

Be it Resolved that the City Council of the City of Bangor hereby authorizes the application, acceptance and
appropriation of $146,389 in Municipal COVID-19 Awareness Campaign Funds that will be utilized to support
pubic education, physical distancing, public health, and local business assistance activities.
