HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-08-24 20-279 Resolve 08/24/202020-279 08/24/2020 20-279 Police Resolve N/A Title, Resolve Ratifying the Application and Acceptance of $19,496 in 2002 Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Funds and the Execution of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Penobscot County Sheriff The Police Department and the Penobscot County Sheriff received notification that $19,496 is available through the 2020 Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Program. The grant requires the two agencies share the funding. If approved, the Police Department will utilize $9,792 of the shared grant funding. The Police Department intends to utilize the funding to replace radios and training. The deadline for application is August 19, 2020. Approval of this order will ratify actions taken by City staff to obtain this grant Recommend for passage Consent 08/24/202020-279 CITY OF BANGOR RESOLVE 08/24/2020 20-279 Sprague Ratifying the Application and Acceptance of $19,496 in 2002 Edward Byrne Memorial Grant Funds and the Execution of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Penobscot County Sheriff WHEREAS, the grant application was due on Wednesday, August 19, 2019; and Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the actions taken by the City staff to apply for, accept and execute a memorandum of understanding with the Penobscot County Sheriff are hereby ratified.
