Earlier this evening, the City Council will be considering passage of Order 20-254 "Authorizing Issuance of $2,730,000 of the City's General Obligation Bonds and a Tax Levy Therefor to Fund Cameron Stadium Improvements - Multi Sport Turf/Field - Track Replacement". The Charter of the City of Bangor, Article VIII, Section 19, requires the City Council to submit to voter referendum orders or resolves authorizing the issue of general obligation securities of the city in a principal amount of five one-hundredth of one percent of the last certified state valuation of the City for a single capital improvement or item of capital equipment. If approved, the City Clerk shall make notice of election to the citizens of Bangor and prepare the ballots for the November 3, 2020 election. Recommend for passage If the Bond Order that appears earlier on tonight's agenda is approved by the City Council, this Order must be adopted to place the question on the November ballot. If the bond order is not approved, this item will need to be indefinitely postponed. New Business 08/24/202020-286 CITY OF BANGOR ORDER 08/24/2020 20-286 Fournier Authorizing Placement of $2,730,000 Bond Question on November 3, 2020 Ballot WHEREAS, the City Council passed Order 20-254 "Authorizing Issuance of $2,730,000 of the City's General Obligation Bonds and a Tax Levy Therefor to fund Cameron Stadium Improvements - Multi Sport Turf/Field - Track Replacement"; and WHEREAS, The Charter of the City of Bangor, Article VIII, Section 19, requires the City Council to submit to voter referendum orders or resolves authorizing the issue of general obligation securities of the city in a principal amount of five one-hundredth of one percent of the last certified state valuation of the City for a single capital improvement or item of capital equipment. NOW THEREFORE, Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the following question be placed on the November 3, 2020, municipal ballot: Shall the order "Authorizing Issuance of $2,730,000 of the City's General Obligation Bonds and a Tax Levy Therefor to Fund Cameron Stadium Improvements - Multi Sport Turf/Field - Track Replacement" be approved?
