Title, Order
Authorizing the Execution of a Cooperative Agreement Extension Between U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency and the City of Bangor to continue the City's Brownfields Assessment Program
This Order will authorize a 1 year cooperative agreement extension with U.S. EPA allowing the City
to continue to operate it's Brownfields Assessment Program through September 30, 2021.
The Brownfields program works with property owners on a voluntary basis to assess potential
contamination in order to spur redevelopment and economic growth. To date we have conducted
four Phase I site investigations and three Phase II investigations, as well as clean up planning and
bid specifications for another project. There is approximately $85,000 of the original $200,000
remaining in the budget. The program is on track to meet its goals but more time will allow us to
identify additional sites.
All other terms and conditions outlined in the current agreement will remain and the agreement will
be in a final form as approved by City Legal.
