HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-07-27 20-232 Resolve 07/27/202020-232 07/27/2020 20-232 Community & Economic Development Resolve 101-007 Title, Resolve Ratifying the City Manager's Actions to Allow C&L Aerospace Holdings, LLC to Use City Property on Griffin Road as Laydown Yard This resolve ratifies the City Manager's action to sign an agreement with C&L Aerospace Holdings to use the City's 145 Griffin Road property as a laydown yard for the storage of equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials during and before its construction of a new building on C&L's 395 Griffin Road property. Due to the timing of a zone change request, equipment and materials are arriving prior to C&L being able to commence their construction project. This agreement sets out all terms and conditions of their utilization of the property, restoration of the property, and terminates upon the issuance or refusal of issuance of a certificate of occupancy for C&L for the new building on the 395 Griffin Road property. This item meets the Council's stated goals of developing building/properties opportunities for lease or sale, and promoting job creation and tax base stabilization through attraction and retention of new business. Recommend for passage Consent 07/27/202020-232 CITY OF BANGOR RESOLVE 07/27/2020 20-232 Sprague Ratifying the City Manager's Actions to Allow C&L Aerospace Holdings, LLC to Use City Property on Griffin Road as Laydown Yard WHEREAS, the City of Bangor owns a vacant parcel of land at 145 Griffin Road; and WHEREAS, C&L Aerospace Holdings, LLC has purchased the adjacent building and land at 395 Griffin Road; and WHEREAS, C&L Aerospace Holdings, LLC is pursuing a zone change to allow for further development of the parcel at 395 Griffin Road through the construction of an additional building; and WHEREAS, the timing of that zone change request means C&L Aerospace Holdings, LLC requires space for a laydown yard for the storage of equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials during and before construction of a new building on their 395 Griffin Road property, and WHEREAS, the timing of this request meant the City Manager worked in consultation with the City Solicitor and Assistant City Solicitor to develop an agreement for C&L Aerospace Holdings, LLC to use the City property (map-lot 101-007) that satisfied all appropriate terms and conditions; Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that The City Manager's actions to sign the Laydown Yard Agreement with C&L Aerospace Holdings, LLC for use of the City property at map-lot 101-007 are hereby ratified.
