HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-06-22 20-203 Resolve 07/13/202020-203 07/13/2020 20-203 Health & Community Services Resolve N/A Title, Resolve Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate $212,500 from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services to Support an Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Distribution Program. This resolve will accept and appropriate $212,500 from the Maine Departent of Health and Human Services to support an overdose prevention and naloxone distribution program during the period July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. If approved the grant includes $62,500 for overdose prevention in Penobscot, Hancock, and Washington counties; $120,000 for naloxone purchase and distribution throughout Penobscot, Hancock, Washington, Piscataquis, and Aroostook counties; and $30,000 to support naloxone distribution. The Public Health and Community Services Department has been a recipient of the overdose prevention portion of this grant since 2008; the contract was expanded in 2020 to include naloxone purchase and distribution.
