Authorizing the Use of CARES Act Public Transportation Grant funds for FY 2020 in an Amount up to $900,000
This Order would authorize the use of CARES Act Grant funds to support a portion of the Community
Connector operating costs incurred during the year ending June 30, 2020.
Earlier this year as part of a federal stimulus package, the Federal Transportation Administration
awarded $4,003,122 in CARES Act funding to the Community Connector to prevent, prepare for, and
respond to coronavirus impacts, including support for continuing operations.
This Order acknowledges the City of Bangor's intent to utilize up to $900,000 in CARES Act Public
Transportation grant funds to partial fund operating costs. The use of additional CARES Act funds
have been reviewed by the City Council and are included in the proposed FY 2021 budget.

WHEREAS; the Coronavirus Pandmic has significantly impacted the citizens and businesses across the United
States; and
WHEREAS; the Federal Transportation Administration made CARES Act Funding Available to Public
Transportation providers; and
WHEREAS; the Funding was Provided to Prevent, Prepare for, and Respond to Coronavirus Impacts, Including
Support for Continuing Operations; and
WHEREAS; the Financial Impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic Began During FY 2020; and
WHEREAS; the Financial Impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic is Projected to Continue in FY 2021; and
WHEREAS; the Community Connector was Awarded $4,003,122 in CARES Act Funding; and
WHEREAS; the City Anticipates Utilizing $2,264,946 in CARES Act Funding During FY 2021;
Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, up to $900,000 in CARES Act are hereby
authorized to be utilized to support Community Connector operations for the year ending June 30, 2020.
