Making an Appropriation for the Bangor School Department in Excess of the Minimum Spending Target
Established by 20-A MRSA Section 15671 A. 4.
This resolve will authorize the appropriation of local funds in excess of the minimum spending target
limit in the amount of $4,968,915. The Bangor School Committee recommends $4,968,915 of
additional funds and gives the following reasons for exceeding the State's Essential Programs and
Services funding model by $4,968,915: Special Education $2,072,256; Transportation $200,017; Co
and extracurricular activities $1,216,061; Technology $545,090; and Employee Benefits $935,491.

Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that,
In accordance with 20-A MRSA Section 15671 A. 4, an appropriation of $4,968,915 of local funds in excess of
the minimum spending target is hereby approved for the following purposes: Special Education $2,072,256;
Transportation $200,017; Co and extracurricular activities $1,216,061; Technology $545,090; and Employee
Benefits $935,491.

Ijeoma Obi felt there should be more diversity and inclusivity training as well as more psychologists for students.
Kosi Ifeji stated that they should include the students from surrounding schools in the diversity and inclusivity training.
