Be it ordained by de My Cowmen of Us City ofBanyor, ae fdlome:
THAT Chapter VIII, Article 21, Section 2 (1-A) of the Ordinances of
the City of Bangor be amended by adding the following:
(f) Bus Shelters
(1) Upon issuance of a building permit by the Code Enforcement Officer,
bus shelters, for the use of the public while waiting for the
public transit, may be erected in any zone:
(a) .By the City within the public right-of-way or outside of
the public right-of-way, and;
(b) _Outside of the public right-of-way by private parties.
(2) Bus shelters shall be subject to the following restrictions and
conditions:
(a) Bus shelters need not meet the setback requirements of the
zone for buildings and structures;
M Bus shelters shall not exceed a floor area of 100 sq. ft,
nor a height of 15 Feet;
(c) No sign, as defined by the sign ordinance of the City of Bangor
(Chapter Vr, Article„3), shall be erected on or in a bus shelter
except: a sign identifying the bus shelter as a bus stop or
bus station; and/or a map of bus routes and schedule of times
of stops may be erected;
(d) The location of a bus shelter shall not create a traffic
hazard, nor interfere with traffic control signs and signals,
and shall be approved in writing by the Transit Manager.
(g) Bus shelters shall be constructed of appropriate permanent
materials and shall be properly maintained to prevent rust,
rot, peeling or similar deterioration.

the above-named Zoning. Amendment.
After careful consideration of the nature of the proposed
change the Board voted four in favor and one opposed to recommend
approval of the requested Zoning Amendment.
