ORDERED,
THAT the attached report of the City Engineer relative to
the discontinuance of Hodsdon Street between Main Street and
Short Street be and,hereby is accepted, and be it further
ORDERED;
THAT said street be discontinued as a public way, subject
to the retention of easements for existing utility lines, and
access to the property owned by the City of Bangor on the
northeasterly side of said Hodsdon Street, and be it further
OHDEHED,
THAT no damages be paid as a result of said discontinuance.

To the Municipal Officers:
Pursuant to City Council Order No. 269,AH passed August
25, 1980, authorizing the City Engineer to discontinue Hodsdon
Street between Main Street and Short Street, the following
report is submitted:
The street to be discontinued is more fully described as
follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the southeasterly. line of
Main Street and the southwesterly right-of-way line of Hodsdon
Street at Coordinates North 352,140.82 East 429,176.83, based
on the Maine State Coordinate System, fast Zone; thence South
550 28' W" East along the southwesterly right-of-way line of
said Hodsdon Street for a distance of 228.20 feet to a point,
line Of Short street for a distance of
eing on the northe@sterly right-of-way
easterly line of Hodsdon btreet for a distance of 236.55 feet
to the egutheasterly right-of-way line of Main Street; thence
South 20 18' 32" West along said southeasterly right-of-way
line of Main Street for a distance of 34.04 feet to the point
of beginning.
Meaning and intending to describe a right-of-way having -a
width of 33 feet, extending from Main Street to Short Street,
being that portion of Hodsdon Street laid out and accepted as
a public way on December 6, 1869, as described in City of Bangor
Road Book Vol. 2, Page 436. -
In accordance with the provisions of 23 M.R.S.A., See. 3026,
best practicable notice was sent to the abutting property owners
and to the Planning Board. The abuttingpproperty owners on the
southwesterly side of Hodsdon Street are Brountas Realty Company
and the City of Bangor; the City of Bangor owns all of the property
along the northeasterly side of Hodadon Street. Written notice
of the intention to discontinue said Hodsdon Street was forwarded
to Brountas Realty Company, indicating that no damages will be
recommended to be paid for said discontinuance.
Since the Kenduskeag Stream Urban Renewal Plan had originally
intended that Hodsdon Street be discontinued, to become a part of
the adjacent properties for redevelopment, it is recommended that
me
maid street be discontinued, subject to the retention of easements
for the existing utility lines, and subject to the right of access
by the City to the property located on the northeasterly side of
Hodsdon Street.
