ORDERED,
THAT WHEREAS, a petition has been received from the Maine
Broadcasting Company for the discontinuance of Prince Street
extending east from Broadway to the former right-of-way of
Laurel Street, and
WHEREAS, said Prince Street has never been constructed or
accepted as a public way, and serves no public need,
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It
ORDERED, That the City Engineer, acting for and on behalf
of the Municipal Officers according to law, proceed to give
written notice to the Maine Broadcasting Company, being the only
abutting property owner, and to the Planning Board of their
intention to discontinue and vacate said right-of-way, more
fully described as 'follows: _
A 50 -foot wide right-of-way, the centerline of which inter
'sects the easterly right-of-way line of Broadway 373.00 fey
south from the southerly right-of-way line of Chapin Stree'
as measured along said easterly right-of-way line of Broad
thence at right angles to said Broadway right-of-way line
distance of 756.7 feet to the former westerly right-of-way
line of Laurel Street, said Laurel Street having been pre-
viously discontinued. Said right-of-way was originally
laid out to a width of 50 feet, measuring 25 feet on eithe:
side of the above-described centerline, and is more fully
shown on a Plan entitled "Plan Showing the Property of Che:
Woodman George H. Hamlin and Louis %iretrial Hillside, Ba;
Maine, Aeptember 1899 by George H. Hamlin,.C.E., Resurveye,
in 1908 by A. E. Mullaney, C.E.", said Plan recorded in
Penobscot Registry of Deeds in Plan Book 9, Page 7; and be
it further
ORDERED, That the City Engineer make a written return of said
proceedings together with a list of possible damages as a result of
said discontinuance, and report his findings to the City Council
for further action.

Dear Mr. Frawley
We hereby request that Prince Street, which runs between
Broadway and the former Laurel Street be officially discontinued by
the City of Bangor. We note that pursuant to Council Order No.
35AE, passed December 13, 1976, the portion of Prince Street which
extended from Laurel Street to Hillside Avenue was discontinued.
Pursuant t0 the a order, all Or portions of Evans Street, Laurel
Street, Liberty Street, Hillside Avenue, Chapin Street and Hobart
Street were discontinued. For a son, the balance of Prince
Street w not included in the order.reason,
Broadcasting Company
s the owner of record of all property adjoining the generally
northerly and southerly bounds of Prince Street.
We will greatly appreciate it if the discontinuance is
accomplished as soon as possible. -
