AMENDING CHAPTER XI,'ARTICLE 6, SECTION
OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF BAN6gR-MOBILEHOME ORDINANCE

§en._ 7 Accessory Structures. The following requirements
_ shall apply to any accessory structure located on an
individual mobilehome site and accessory to the mobilehome.
The accessory structure shall:
7.1 not exceed a width of }B 24 feet or a length of 24
26 feet
7.2 be located not less than 20 feet from the street
right-of-way, end not less than 10 feet from a
ear lot lines, and not leas than 6 3 feet from a
side lot line
7.3 not exceed a wall height of B 10 feet --nor have a
roof pitch exceeding S' per foot
7.4 have foundations that conform to the building
bodes of the City of Bangor

7.65 not obstruct required openings for light and
ventilation of the mobilehomes nor prevent
inspection Of any mobilehome equipment or utility
connection and when attached to a home, shall be

Notwithstanding other provisions of this
Ordinance, the Code Enforcement Officer may grant permits
for accessory structures for individual mobilehomes which
meet these requirements.

(Mobilehome Ordinance)

At your request the Planning .Board reviewed the proposed
amendment to the Mobilehome Ordinance contained in C.O. p 81-239
at its regular meeting on August 17, 1981. The Board heard comments
from interested parties in the .audience and comments from the Planning
Officer on the need for .minimum spacing of structures on mobilehome
lots due to potential fire hazards. -
After considerable discussion concerning the proposed amendment
and asuggested revision
submitted by the Planning Office, the Board
vowed: 1). to notifythe Council that fn compliance with its request
it had reviewed the proposed amendment and 2) to pass on
ce
its concern
that the Fire Chief had indicated same potential safety problems
relative to the location of mobilehomes in relation to each other and
their appurtenant structures. and 3) therefore, that the Board urges
the Council prior,to adoption of this Council Ordinance,to consult the
Fire Chief and obtain the benefits of his expertise and judgment in
this matter. Also,the motion was amended to make note of the Planning_
Staff's development of alternative wording of the amendment to this
Ordinance for consideration by the Council. The amended motion
received passage by a vote of to 2.
We are attaching for your consideration a copy of the drafted
alternative to the proposed amendment prepared by the Planning Office.

Not withstanding other provisions of this Ordinance, the
Code. Enforcement Officere grant permits for accessory structures for
individual mobilehomes which meet these requirements.

Not withstanding other provisions of this Ordinance, the Code

for individual mobilehomes which meet these requirements.
Sec. 8 Attached Structures. The following requirements shall apply
to anyattached extensions to mobilehames such as porches,
porticos and decks. Such attached structures shall:
8.1 Meet all yard requirements for the mobilehome as
enumerated in Article 5, Section 1.7 of this
Ordinance.
8.2 Not be used for the storage of motor vehicles.
8.3 Not be extended to less than twelve feet from any
other mobilehome or accessory structure
8.4 Not exceed 200. square feet in area.
