Order
001-001
Title, Order
Authorizing Bangor International Airport to Participate in a Study Regarding Access Control Systems for the
Faith Group and the National Safe Skies Alliance Program.
This Order will authorize Bangor International Airport (BGR) to participate as a Case Study airport for
the Faith Group’s Work Plan for the National Safe Skies Alliance Program for Applied Research in
Airport Security (PARAS) 0030 “Guidance for Access Control System Transitions.”
If the Faith Group is selected for this study by the National Safe Skies Alliance, BGR would support
their research effort by contributing information and feedback concerning the access control system.
The objective of the research is to produce guidance detailing considerations, pitfalls, and lessons
learned during access control technology selection, procurement, and implementation. The airport
will receive copies of the published guidance for our staff when it is complete.
Basic terms for the Letter of Commitment include that the airport shall not be compensated for
efforts to participate in the study, and the City reserves the right to terminate participation if it is
deemed untenable or difficult. This Letter will be in a final form as approved by City Legal. This
Order supports the City goal to 'Improve and Develop Safe and Accessible Multi-Modal
Transportation Systems'.
