Zendzian„ Chairman Bangor City Council City Hall Bangor, Me. 04401 Dear Paul It is with a great deal of regret that I herewith submit my resignation from the Planning Board, effective immediately. After nearly three months of search for re-employment in our area, without proper success, I have accepted a very desir- able position elsewhere in Maine. It has been most interesting to serve these past seven years as a member of the Board, and I trust that in some small way some contribution to the City and its residents has been accomplished from such voluntary involvement. I do have one last request of you and the other councilers. In selecting new Planning Board members, do set aside political or other personal influences to nominate alternates.. who have gained valuable experience. Their contributions to the deliber- ations and decisions of the Board most be recognized and rewarded by movement to full member status. I have been particularly impressed by the serious research into all agenda items and the important contributions that Peter Downey has given the Board during his years as alternate. Cordially, X R.
