CITY OF BANGOR, MAINE
Engineering Department

To the Municipal Officers:
Reference is made to a petition received from Mr. Gilman
H. Peavey of Bangor, requesting the extension of Forest Avenue
for a distance of approximately 200 feet north from it's present
terminus. The extension is required to serve a small Subdivision,
the Plan of which has previously been approved by the Planning
Board.
The proposed extension would consist of a 20 -foot wide
travel way, to conform to the width of the existing road,
consisting of a 3 inch bituminous concrete surface on a 6 inch
gravel base and a 12 inch gravel subbase.
The total estimated coat of the roadway extension is
$5 200.00. In accordance with Chapter XII, Article 12, Sec.
1.6.1 of the Laws and Ordinances of the City of Bangor, the
City would pay $5.25 per foot of road, or $1,209.50, and the
Developer would be required to pay the estimated balance of
approximately $4,000.00. The Petitioner has indicated that he
is in favor of the project, and it is recommended that the.
roadway extension be completed as soon as possible.
A Plan showing the proposed roadway extension is on file
in the Office of the City Engineer.
Respectfullly submitted,
John T. Frawley, \
City Engineer
