HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-03-23 20-112 Order 03/23/202020-112 03/23/2020 20-112 Community & Economic Development Order N/A Title, Order Authorizing the City Manager to Accept a Donation of up to $8,357 from A Climate to Thrive for an Electric Vehicle Charging Station for The Garage at Pickering Square This Order authorizes the City Manager to accept a donation of up to $8,357 from A Climate to Thrive for the installation of an electric vehicle charging station at The Garage at Pickering Square. The City applied for and received notification of award for funds to purchase and install one dual port electric vehicle charger at The Garage at Pickering Square. This charger can service two vehicles at a time. The estimated project cost is $13,357, of which the awarded Efficiency Maine grant covers $5,000. A Climate to Thrive, a Maine non-profit working to increase electric vehicle infrastructure in communities, will contribute the balance ($8,357). The City's contribution is in-kind electrical work, permitting, and the cost of electricity, which has already been completed. The machine will be installed by ReVision Energy. A Climate to Thrive has also asked that the City enter into five-year agreements for network and warranty services in return for their contribution. The City's will also contribute through in-kind electrical work, permitting, and the cost of electricity. This order meets the Council goal of developing sustainable practices towards resource utilization and protection.
