Electric Vehicle Charging Station for The Garage at Pickering Square
This Order authorizes the City Manager to execute a contract with ReVision Energy for the
installation of an electric vehicle charging station at The Garage at Pickering Square.
The City applied for and received notification of award for funds to purchase and install one dual
port electric vehicle charger at The Garage at Pickering Square. This charger can service two vehicles
at a time. The estimated project cost is $13,357, of which the awarded Efficiency Maine grant
covers $5,000. A Climate to Thrive, a Maine non-profit working to increase electric vehicle
infrastructure in communities, will contribute the balance ($8,357). The City's contribution is in-kind
electrical work, permitting, and the cost of electricity, which has already been completed. The
machine will be installed by ReVision Energy. A Climate to Thrive has also asked that the City enter
into five-year agreements for network and warranty services with certain entities in return for their
contribution. The Cityy will also contribute through in-kind electrical work, permitting, and the cost
of electricity.
This order meets the Council goal of developing sustainable practices towards resource utilization
