Authorizing the City Manager to Accept and Appropriate $42,596 in Grant Funds from the Maine Department
of Health and Human Services for Community Health Nursing Maternal and Child Health Nursing Services.
This order will accept and appropriate $42,596 from the Maine Department of Health and Human
Services as an amendment to the existing grant that provides services to prenatal and postpartum
women, infants and children within Bangor. The City has been the recipient of these funds for the
past 20 years. Currently these grant funds are scheduled to expire on March 31, 2020 and this
amendment will extend the grant funds from March 31, 2020 through July 31, 2020 when the grant
is scheduled for renewal.

Whereas; The Maine Department of Health and Human Services provides grant funds for services to prenatal
and postpartum women, infants and children within Bangor, and
Whereas; The City applied for and has been the recipient of these funds for the past 20 years, and
Whereas; Currently these grant funds are scheduled to expire on March 31, 2020, and
Whereas; This amendment will extend the grant funds from March 31, 2020 through July 31, 2020 when the
grant is scheduled for renewal.
Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the City Manager is Authorized to Accept and
Appropriate $42,596 in Grant Funds from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services for
Community Health Nursing Maternal and Child Health Nursing Services.
