HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-01-27 20-057 Order 01/27/202020-057 01/27/2020 20-057 Finance Order 053-183 Title, Order Amending Council Order 19-400, Disposition and Development of a Single Family Home Located at 177 Pearl Street This Order would amend the terms and conditions, approved by Council in its October 16, 2019 meeting, for the development of 177 Pearl Street by Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor. As a result of unexpected delays due to weather and volunteer issues, Habitat's Board of Directors is projecting a June start up on the property located at 177 Pearl Street. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor is requesting a change of the condition for obtaining a building permit by February 1st to June 1st. This order addresses the Council goal of improving quality and quantity of housing to meet demand for workforce housing, life cycle housing, and supportive housing within the community. Consent 01/27/202020-057 CITY OF BANGOR ORDER 01/27/2020 20-057 Hawes Amending Council Order 19-400, Disposition and Development of a Single Family Home Located at 177 Pearl Street WHEREAS, the Council authorized the Disposition and Development of vacant property located at 177 Pearl Street to Habitat for Humanity; and WHEREAS, the Council approved the terms and conditions of obtaining the necessary building permits by February 1, 2020; and WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity is requesting an extension of said condition to June 1, 2020; and BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BANGOR, THAT The City Manager is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City of Bangor, to execute those documents necessary for the transfer and development agreement of the proposed two story single family house to be located at 177 Pearl Street (Map and Lot 053-183) to Habitat for Humanity, under the following conditions: 1. The developer shall purchase the property for $5,000. 2. The developer shall spend a minimum of $146,000 on the development of the proposed two story single family home. 3. The developer shall obtain a building permit on or before June 1, 2020. 4. The developer shall complete the project and obtain a certificate of occupancy within one year of obtaining said building permit.
