Order
001-001
Title, Order
Authorizing the City Manager or his or her designee to Execute Agreements with Airport Tenants and
Transient Customers for Aircraft Tiedown, Joint-Use and T-Hangar services at the Bangor International Airport
This Order authorizes the City Manager or his or her designee to enter into agreements with airport tenants
and transient customers for aircraft tiedown, joint-use and T-hangar services at the Bangor International
Airport (BGR).
Aircraft tiedown and hangar service agreements, allowing planes to be parked or stored at BGR, are
commonly executed by the FBO at the airport. Given the frequency and volume of these requests, it would
be inefficient to have the Council approve the agreements on an individual basis. Typically, agreement terms
may range from a few days to several months to several years, not to exceed 5 years. Rates are charged
based on the aircraft size, length of stay, and other additional services needed. Airport staff reviewed and
updated these agreements.
If approved, these agreements include the following:
1) Terms not to exceed 5 years
2) Customer tiedown and hangar responsibilities
3) Specific rules and regulations for operating on the airfield
The agreements shall be in final form as approved by City Legal. This Order supports the Council goal to
"Ensure the viability and growth of air transit and air transportation to serve Bangor and the greater
northern Maine region through BGR."
