HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-11-13 20-010 Resolve 11/13/201920-010 11/13/2019 20-010 Community & Economic Development Resolve N/A Title, Resolve Ratifying the City Manager's Actions to Submit an Efficiency Maine Grant Application for $5,000 for Electric Vehicle Charging Station for The Garage at Pickering Square This Resolve will ratify the City Manager's actions to submit to Efficiency Maine a grant application for the installation of an electric vehicle (EV) charging station for the garage at Pickering Square. The project scope includes the purchase and installation of one dual port charger which can service two vehicles at a time. The estimated project cost is $14,349, of which Efficiency Maine will contribute $5,000 and A Climate to Thrive will contribute the balance. The City's contribution will be in-kind electrical work and permitting, and cost of electricity. This order meets the council's goal of "developing sustainable practices towards resource utilization and protection." Recommend for passage New Business 11/13/201920-010 CITY OF BANGOR RESOLVE 11/13/2019 20-010 Davitt Ratifying the City Manager's Actions to Submit an Efficiency Maine Grant Application for $5,000 for Electric Vehicle Charging Station for The Garage at Pickering Square Whereas, the City of Bangor supports infrastructure that facilitates the use of a variety of types of transportation; and Whereas, the City of Bangor recognizes that the growing popularity of electric vehicles has resulted in increased installation of electric vehicle charging stations; and Whereas, the City of Bangor, as a center of employment and commerce, wishes to offer drivers of electric vehicles the ability to charge and park in our community; and Whereas, the City of Bangor can work with Efficiency Maine and A Climate to Thrive, two Maine-based organizations that seek to increase the presence of electric vehicle charging stations in our state; and Whereas, the City of Bangor's Garage at Pickering Square is an ideal location for the placement of EV chargers; and Whereas, an Efficiency Maine grant program presented the opportunity to secure funding; therefore: Be it Resolved by the City Council of the City of Bangor that the City Council hereby ratifies the City Manager's application to Efficiency Maine for a grant of up to $5,000 for the purchase and installation of an electric vehicle charging station at the Garage at Pickering Square.
