AGENDA
1. Discussion: Update Paving Program for FY20
th

trying a 12.5 polymer mix on selected locations and noted Haskell Road and Harlow Street
would be paved with the new mix.

2. Discussion: Update Park Street & Somerset Intersection
John outlined and provided a map of the project area. Proposed alterations would include
eliminating parking, installing curbing, sidewalks, crosswalks, and realigning the travel lane.
There was discussion of the hazards associated with the intersection. John Clayton was in favor
of the one way and expressed the need for parking on the hill. Marianne Holt also had
concerns about parking on the hill close to the businesses. She addressed speeding and near
misses, the need to control the Center Street area, and requested yellow flashers. She also
requested permit parking instead of two hour parking. John indicated the area didn’t meet
MUTCD for flashers and would need to try other methods. Councilor Nealley expressed
concern for removal of parking spaces in association with the alterations and recommended
bring this item back to Committee for further discussion. Councilor Nichols suggested meeting
elsewhere with the remaining citizens in attendance who wished to express their opinion, as
the meeting was nearing adjournment.
3. Solid Waste Commercial Hauler
Richard Cromwell explained that this would be a change in definitions, primarily what can and
cannot be accepted under the revised Ordinance.
Vote: Moved and seconded, unanimous.
