In addition, this resolve would ratify staff action to apply for a grant in the amount of $48,652 from the Maine Department of Transportation, Bicycle and Pedestrian Program. The project is a joint application from the City of Bangor and City of Brewer for funding for sidewalk and crosswalk improvements to develop a safe and accessible pedestrian route between the two cities along the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge. If approved, this Resolve would accept and appropriate $60,815.00 for the total cost of the improvements. Under the terms of the grant, the State will pay 80% or $48,652.00 of the total project cost and the City's of Brewer and the City of Bangor would each Municipality will pay 10% or $6,081.50.
