Title, Order
Authorizing Bangor Health and Community Services to Apply to the Pew Charitable Trust for a $500,000 Grant
This Order will authorize the City Health and Community Services Department to apply to the PEW
Charitable Trust for a $500,000 grant, administered over two years through. If approved, the City
will manage the grant on behalf of the Community Health Leadership Board to help study the impact
of regional efforts around low-barrier, rapid-access MAT (medication assisted treatment). The Pew
Charitable Trust’s Community Opioid Response and Evaluation program (CORE) advances the
evaluation and adoption of best practices/innovations that address opioid use disorder at the
community level. This grant aligns well with the City’s collaborative efforts to address the opioid
epidemic and its focus on social determinants of health to reduce barriers to care and improve health
equity for all populations.
