THAT the provisions of Sections 1, 2 (including subsections 2.1 through
2.10), 3 and 4 of Chapter I, Article 5 of the Ordinances of the City
of Bangor He repealed and replaced with the following:
CHAPTER I
ARTICIE 5 - VOTING DISTRICTS ANO VOTING PRECINCTS
Sec. 1 Voting Districts E91ablished. Far purposes of all municipal
elections, the City of Bangor
shall be divided into five (5) voting districts, also known as wards.
The boundaries of such districts shall be the sam as established by
virtue of P.L. of 1983, c. 93, § 5 for the election of members, of the
State of Maine House of Representatives from the City of Bangor as follows:
Voting District
NO. 1 - House District NO. 115
2 - House District No. 116
No. 3 - House District No. 117
We. 4 - House District No. 118
No. 5 - House District No. 119
Sec. 2 Voting precincts Established. Each voting district with the exception
of Voting District No. 1, established
under this ordinance shall be divided into two (2) voting precincts. The
boundaries of each precincts shall be as follows:

MEM) - VOTING DISTRSCTS
I recrabound only 5 voting precincts In the City of Bangor being the
bcurdexim given by the legislature - for the following reasons.
1. Cost will be cut in half for moat elections.
2. Availability for the handicapped! -we are
ae beings available
the a ailable
buildings by schools closing - keeping the number of precincts to five.
We would be wre likely to get the proper buildings to acconscdate the
handicapped.
3. General Election - at the time of General Elation or any election when
a larger turnout was
anticipated w could adjust by adding more ballot
clerks and election clear" for that particular election.
4. Election results - Data a mi g ms ns inform the counting time would he
almost cutin half because of handling only five insteed of ten.

follows: Beginning at the Hampden -Bangor boundary at its intersectio;
with the Saint Central Railroad; thence northwest on the lame Central
Railroad tracks to Sony Food; thence east on Perry Sued to Webster Avenue;
thence northeast on Webster Avenue to the northern hounlary of the municipal
golf Course; thence southeast along thetkeoundary to the western boundary of
Bass Park; thence northeast along the Bass Perk boundary to its intersection
with a direct line from the and of Silver Fond to Bass Park; thence northwest
along the line to Silver Road; thence noathweat on Silver Read to 7tfi Street;
