Also in attendance were City Manager Cathy Conlow, Airport Director Tony Caruso, Airport Marketing Manager Aimee Thibodeau, LifeFlight Executive Director Tom Judge and Republic Parking General Manager Parke Clemons. Agenda and Discussion: 1. LifeFlight of Maine – Presentation by Tom Judge, Executive Director As a result of the Committee’s suggestion, we will periodically bring tenant representatives to these monthly meetings to provide updates on their operations. The first guest is Tom Judge representing LifeFlight of Maine. LifeFlight has been an Airport tenant since the group’s inception in 1998. LifeFlight is part of Northern Light Eastern Maine Health System, but it is an independent business unit. It is a private non-profit charity with an associated Foundation. LifeFlight serves the sickest, most traumatized patients from all regions of Maine. LifeFlight does extensive research on patient outcomes and has won many national and international awards. 2. Republic Parking – Airport Review. Presentation by Parke Clemons, GM of Republic Parking / Bangor Airport Director Tony Caruso introduced Republic Parking General Manager Parke Clemons for a review of Airport’s annual report of parking operations. Republic operates two lots – the short term/long term lots closer to the terminal and a shuttle lot for use when those lots are full. In addition to the traditional mid-February to early May operation, the shuttle lot was also used during October and Thanksgiving in 2018. Bangor’s parking fees continue to be the lowest in the Northeast. The annual review recommends updates to the signage and continued monitoring for potential garage construction. The current shuttle lot is on a Banair development parcel. If Banair leases that land, we would need to quickly find an alternate location. 3. Avis/Budget – Temporary Use Agreement Avis has requested use of the shuttle lot for its excess summer/fall inventory. Airport Director Tony Caruso requested Committee approval for a temporary 5-month Use agreement between the Airport and Avis/Budget. If needed, it will continue on a month-to-month basis after the Agreement’s 5-month period. Motion made, seconded and approved. 4. Airport Statistics – March 2019 Marketing Manager Aimee Thibodeau distributed the March Statistics Reports. Tony reported March 2019 operations up slightly. Fuel sales trending behind last year, but above budget. Aimee reported that March passenger numbers were up 1.5% over last year. All airlines are currently above 80% load factors. Meeting Adjourned.
