Consent Agenda a. Resolve, Authorizing Grant Application to the Maine Fire Service Institute in the Amount of $509,400 to Construct a New Live Fire Training Facility Motion made and seconded to recommend passage to the City Council, motion passed unanimously. 2. Bids/Purchasing a. Hogan Road Resurfacing Project – Engineering – Northeast Paving - $671,733 Motion made and seconded to recommend contract award to the City Council, motion passed unanimously. b. Merchants Plaza Triangle Improvements and Pickering Square Parking Garage Entrance Alterations – Hughes Brothers, Inc - $1,087,396 Motion made and seconded to recommend contract award to the City Council, motion passed unanimously. c. Biofilter Pumps Electrical & IO Installation – WWTP – Wilcox Electric Inc - $103,400 Staff updated the Committee as to its work with the contractor to value engineer the project to lower the cost, no final decision has been agreed to yet, but the intent is to reduce the cost of the work if possible. Motion made and seconded to recommend contract award to the City Council, motion passed unanimously. d. Request to Waive Bid Process – May Street Drainage and Sewage Rehabilitation – Engineering – Sargent Corporation - $157,145 Motion made and seconded to waive the bid process for this work and recommend contract award to the City Council, motion passed unanimously. e. Request to Waive Bid Process – Pickering Square Waiting Area – Community Connector – Handi Hut - $39,015 Staff contacted several vendors to obtain quotes for bus passenger waiting areas, of the quotes received, staff recommendation was to award the contract to the lowest quote. Motion made and seconded to approve purchase from Handi Hut, motion passed unanimously. 3. Executive Session – 36 MRSA Section 841 (2) – Hardship Abatement Motion made and seconded to enter Executive Session, motion passed unanimously. 4. Open Session – Hardship Abatement Decision Motion made and seconded to grant hardship abatement, motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned 5:30 pm
