HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-03-25 19-127 Order 03/25/201919-127 03/25/2019 19-127 Community & Economic Development Order 042-213 Title, Order Authorizing Execution of Documents for Sale of City Land Located at Broad and Independent Streets to 53 Water LLC This order will authorize the sale of a vacant parcel of land located at Map/Lot 042-213 to 53 Water LLC for $17,000. 53 Water LLC intends build a parking lot on an adjacent parcel that they own. By acquiring the City parcel they will be able to build a larger parking lot. The City will retain an easement for any needed maintenance or repairs to the retaining walls. This item was discussed in executive session during pre-council workshops on both February 25 and March 11, 2019. New Business 03/25/201919-127 CITY OF BANGOR ORDER 03/25/2019 19-127 Nealley Authorizing Execution of Documents for Sale of City Land Located at Broad and Independent Streets to 53 Water LLC WHEREAS, the City of Bangor owns a parcel of land (Map/Lot 042-213) at the corner of Broad and Washington Streets; and WHEREAS, the 53 Water LLC owns an abutting parcel of land and plans to construct a parking lot; and WHEREAS, 53 Water LLC has offered to purchase the property owned by the City of Bangor in order to construct a larger parking lot. Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, Catherine M. Conlow, City Manager, is hereby authorized on behalf of the City of Bangor to enter into an agreement to sell property owned by the City of Bangor located on the corner of Broad and Independent Street (Tax Map 042, Lot 213) to 53 Water LLC. Said agreement shall include a purchase price of $17,000, an easement to the City of Bangor for maintenance or repairs to the existing retaining wall along Independent Street and the Kenduskeag Plaza parking lot, and such other terms and conditions as appropriate. Said agreement shall be in a final form as approved by the City Solicitor or Assistant City Solicitor.
