ORDERED,
THAT WHEREAS, the City of Bangor conveyed a parcel of land
located at the southeast corner of the intersection of .York Street
and Essex Street to Congregation Beth Abraham Anshe Sphard for the
development of a mini -park thereon; and
WHEREAS, the deed of conveyance contained the condition
that the subject premises would be developed and utilized exclusively
for a mini -park; and -
WHEREAS, due to fire damage to the existing synagogue, the
Congregation is desirous of constructing a new synagogue, a portion
of which would be located on the corner lot in question; and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment proposal submitted by the
Congregation received approval on March 6, 1985 from the Design
Review and Site Plan Review Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BANGOR THAT the City Manager is hereby authorized to
execute and deliver a Release Deed conveying the City's interest
n the subject premises to the Congregation Beth Abraham Anshe
Sphard, a copy of which Deed is on file in the Office of the
City Clerk.

CITY of EANGJR, a municipal corporation located in the City of Bangor,
County of Penobscot, State of Maine (hereinafter'"Grantor"), for consideration
paid, releases to CCNGEeCATION B ABRAHAM ANSHE SPHARd, a Maine corporation,
of danger, County of Pencbecot. State of Maine, the land in said Bangor,
boarded and describes as follows, viz:
A certain parcel of land bonded on the North by York Street,
on the East by land of the Grantee, on the South by land of

fully described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of
the easterly right-of-way line of Essex Street with the
southerly right-of-way line of York Street; theree N. 60° 18'

for adistance of 94.11 feet W a point, berg the westerly
line of land owned by the Grantee; thence S. 11" 24' 23" E
along the westerly lire of the Grantee for a distance of
100.00 feet; thence S. 60" 18' 48" W. for a distance of
89.82 feet W the easterly line of Essex Street; thence N 13"
46' 32" W. along the easterly right-of-way line of Essex
Street for a distance of 98.74 feet W the point of
beginning. Top above described parcel contains 8,732
square feet.
