HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-02-11 19-090 Order 02/11/201919-090 02/11/2019 19-090 Human Resources Order N/A Title, Order Authorizing the Execution of a Collective Bargaining Agreement Between the City of Bangor and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 926, Council No.93 Representing the Public Works Department. This Order authorizes the execution of a Collective Bargaining Agreement covering the employees of the Public Works Department. Negotiations between the City and the Union have resulted in a tentative agreement which has been ratified by the Union. The contract has been negotiated within the bargaining guidelines established by the City Council and includes the following: a three year term, effective July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021; wage adjustments of 2% each year of the contract, updated language regarding health insurance and time-off requests. The tentative agreement was reviewed with City Council in Executive Session on January 28, 2019 and is presented with the recommendation of the City's Negotiation Committee. Whereas; The Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Bangor and AFSCME, representing Public Works, expired on June 30, 2018 and, Whereas; The City of Bangor and AFSCME reached a Tentative Agreement on January 15, 2018 and the members of the Public Works Unit have ratified the Tentative Agreement and, Whereas; The Tentative Agreement was bargained within the guidelines established by the City Council, Be it Ordered by the City Council of the City of Bangor that, the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Collective Bargaining Agreement with AFSCME Council No. 93, representing the Public Works Unit.
