The changing of the new of the lower part of Jackson Street
between Ohio Street and Summit Park, Summit Park, and Highland
Street for its entire length, to Thomas Hill Road could be accomp-
lished by not changing the existing house numbers; for example,
no. 54 Highland Street would become no. 54 Thomas Hill Road.
Home of the petitioners have indicated that there is confusion
with the name Highland Street", since it is oftentimes confused
with Highland Avenue, Highland Court, or Highland Lane.
On the basis of the results of the above questionnaire, the
City Engineer recommends that the name of Jackson Street from
Summit Park to Ohio Street, Summit Park from Jackson Street to
Highland Street, and Highland Street from Summit Park to Union
Street be changed to Thomas Hill Road, with the existing house
numbers to be retained, and it is further recommended that the
City Engineer be directed to take the necessar9 steps to discon-
tinue as a public way that portion of Jackson 6treet lying between
Summit Park and Highland Avenue, including the removal of the
pavement and the regrading, loaming and seeding of the street
area.
Respectfully submitted,
