By.t MY Courted of fae City ofSangor; ORDERED, THAT , WHEREAS, a petition has been received from the residents of that portion of Jackson Street lying between Ohio Street and Highland+Street, and from the majority of the residents on Highland Street from Jackson Street to Union Street, requesting that the street names be changed to Thomas Hill Road, and that the portion of Jackson Street between Highland Street and Highland Avenue be discontinuedas a public way; and WRE[iEAS, a subsequent questionnaire to all of the residents of both Jackson Street and Highland Street has indicated that the majority: of the property owners are in favor of the name change and the discontimunnee of the above-described portion of Jackson Street, as contained in the attached City Engineer's report; NOW, THEREFORE, Be It CRDRRED, THAT the name of that portion of. Jackson Street lying between Ohio Street and Summit Park, Summit Park lying between Jackson Street and Highland Street, and Highland Street between Summit Park and Union Street be and hereby is changed to Thomas Hill Roadj and be it further ORDERED, that further action be taken to proceed with the discontinuance of that portion of Jackson Street between Summit Park and Highland Avenue as a public way. On the basis of the results of the above questionnaire, the City Engineer recommends that the name of Jackson Street from Summit Park to Ohio Street, Summit Park from Jackson Street to Highland Street, and Highland Street from Summit Park to Union Street be changed to Thomas Hill Road, with the existing house numbers to be retained, and it is further recommended that the City Engineer be directed to take the necessar9 steps to discon- tinue as a public way that portion of Jackson 6treet lying between Summit Park and Highland Avenue, including the removal of the pavement and the regrading, loaming and seeding of the street area.
