(ffirDer, Di acting the City Eagfneer to Discontinue a Portion Be tM City Counts of CU City of Reeser; ORDERED, THAT, WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Bangor an October 16, 1838 laid out and established a public way known as Fore Street extending from Water Street to Independent Street, westerly of Broad Street, and WHEREAS, said Bore Street was widened in an easterly direction by action of the Comm Council on July 19, 18$1, at which time the name of said way was changed to Wall Street Place, and later to Pickering Square; and WHEREAS, said Pickering Square was further widened in a westerly direction to the westerly right-of-way line of Short Street and the southerly right-of-way line of Hodadon Street by said Common Council on February 41 1871; and WHEREAS, it is now considered to be in the best public interest to use a portion of said Pickering Square for the private development of a commercial office building and attendant parking, access, and landscaping; Ezglna• x ORDERED, THAT the City Register, acting for and on behalf of the Municipal Officers according to 23 M.R.S.A., Section 3026, be and hereby is directed to discontinue that portion of Pickering Square lying southerly of the southerly right-of-way line of Water Street, easterly of the westerly right-of-way line of Short Street, and northerly of the existing northerly right-of-way line of the off - ramp from Short Street to Independent Street, more fully described as follows: Beginning at a point on the southerly right-of-way line of Water Street, said point being 129.6 feet east from the easterly Uright-of-way line of Main Street as measured along said Water Street lane, and said point also being at the intersection of the southwesterly line of the former right-of-way known as Fore Street as laid out by the Common Council on October 16, 1838, as -1- 86-258 Street as originally laid out for a dletand or lase, to a point, said point being on a i tion of the northwesterly right-of-vav line a Ri a distance of 99 feet, more or less, to a point, said 37 feet northeast from the northeasterly line ofthe t-of-way known as Hodsdon Street; thenoe South 55 28' ong a line parallel to, and 37 feet northeast from, northeasterly line of Hodsdo8 Street for a distance of to a point; thence North 36 41' 28" East for a 61 feet, more or lees, to a point, being at the a with the northeasterly right-of-wav line of Fore US laid ouv on Vcvooer lo, loJ ; Toccoa in a thereto; thence in a northerly direction along said line, being the easterly line of Fore Street as altered on July 19, 1851 and recorded in City of Bangor Road Book 2, Page 94, for a distance of 120 feet, more or less, to the southerly right-of-way line of Water Street, said point of intersection being 89 feet, more or less, west from the westerly right-of-way line of Broad Street as Mesaed along said Water Street right-of-way line; thence North 80 08' 10 West along said southerly right-oY-way line of Water Street for a distance of 201 feet, more or less, to the point of beginning. Meaning and intending to describe a portion of the Fore Street right-of-way as originally laid out on October 16, 1838 and described in City of Bangor Road Book 2 Peg 82 as widened an the easterly side on July 19, 1851, recox�ed in City of Bangor Road Book 2, Page 94, and as further widened on the westerly side on February 4, 1871, as described in City of Bangor Road Book 2, Page 440.
